Nov. 6, 1918 — Two lives are sacrificed in a crossing tragedy in New Carlisle. The family members were part of a gypsy outfit traveling across the country in automobiles.

Nov. 6, 1968 — Humphrey concedes that Nixon wins, and the Republicans take county offices.

Nov. 6, 1993 — A committee of U.S. bishops is proposing a document on marriage that encourages Roman Catholics to move beyond the sexual stereotypes they grew up with.

Nov. 6, 2008 — LaPorte County Clerk of the Circuit Court Bette Conroy says Tuesday’s election was the largest she’s ever seen.
