New Carlisle man charged with dealing meth at MC hotel

The LaPorte County Drug Task Force announces the arrest of Boyd D. Hartley III, 35, of New Carlisle, after getting a tip that he was selling methamphetamine from a room at the Baymont Inn on Franklin Street in Michigan City.

Officers, armed with a search warrant, arrested Hartley at the inn on Nov. 19, 2018. They found a large amount of methamphetamine along with heroin, drug paraphernalia, and a large amount of cash.

Hartley is charged with 2 counts of Dealing in Methamphetamine, Level 2 Felonies. He was being held in the LaPorte County Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.

Two other occupants of the hotel room were also arrested. Sarah C. Williams, 44, of Michigan City, was charged with Possession of Heroin, a Level 6 Felony, as well as on an outstanding warrant through LaPorte County for Theft Level 6 Felony; and Savanna A. Williams, 24, of Michigan City, was charged with Possession of Heroin, a Level 6 Felony; Possession of a Syringe, a Level 6 Felony; and on an outstanding warrant for Theft, Level 6 Felony.

The LaPorte County Drug Task Force reminds citizens that they can submit tips anonymously through the social media sites of any local law enforcement agency as well as the crime tip hotline at 219-873-1488.
