New Prairie students make blankets for local kids in stressful situations

Photos and information from LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office

On Nov. 19, 2018, New Prairie High School students in Natalie Spevak’s Mentor Class presented LaPorte County Sheriff John Boyd with comfort blankets that they had crafted in class. The blankets are being provided to deputies to distribute to children who are in crisis and in need of warmth and comfort.

“We are humbled by the thoughtfulness of these New Prairie students who are so willing to provide for other children who may be in need,” Boyd said. “The blankets will be provided to our deputies and we will begin to provide them to kids in crisis when needed.”
