Dec. 6, 1918 — In order to give every LaPorte man a chance to dress up warm, Low’s clothing store will offer some wonderful specials. Included are 200 pairs of cashmere wool hose for 29 cents.

Dec. 6, 1968 — Israeli farmers along the Jordan frontier return to their fields but remain alert for more border battling.

Dec. 6, 1993 — Walmart closes a land sale that will bring a store to LaPorte by 1995.

Dec. 6, 2008 — LaPorte park department employees fear for their jobs because of recent talk of budget cuts and a council member’s suggestion to close the recreation department for one or two years.
