Last October, LaPorte County Sheriff’s Deputy Bobby Greer bench pressed 446 pounds. That’s the equivalent of 2 or 3 state legislators.

Local lawmakers State Sen. Mike Bohacek, R-Michiana Shores, and State Rep. Tim Pressel, R-Rolling Prairie, recognized Greer’s accomplishments on the Senate and House floors at the Statehouse in Indianapolis Jan. 14, 2019.

In October 2018 Greer was invited to participate in the 2018 North American Powerlifting Federation (NAPF) Pan-American Bench Press Championships in San Jose, Costa Rica. He came home with a gold medal after bench pressing 446 pounds in the 264-pound and below weight class.

Greer is a 5-year veteran of the sheriff’s office and is a K-9 handler. He and his K-9 partner Argo, an explosives detection K-9, are assigned to the Patrol Division.

Congratulations, Deputy Greer!
