Do you have old appliances, meds, oil? Papers to shred? Here’s the 2019 collection calendar

Information from SWD

LaPorte County residents are fortunate to have a Solid Waste District that holds special collections of various items that aren’t accepted in bi-weekly recycling. The SWD accepts many items for proper disposal, at no cost (except for some tires), at its Household Hazardous Waste Collections throughout the year.

Here’s the 2019 calendar and details (notes: medications should be brought in a clear Ziploc-type bag. All types can be mixed together and brought in the same bag. Place sharps and syringes in a sturdy plastic jug such as a laundry detergent jug.)
