Feb. 11, 1919 — A new industry, a manufacturer of stoves, is being developed by the LaPorte Foundry and Furnace Company. There are five sizes and about 30,000 can be turned out in a year.

Feb. 11, 1969 — LaPorte’s Dixie Cream Donuts needs a waitress-helper. Good pay. Prefer experienced older woman.

Feb. 11, 1994 — Becki and Keith Dilley of Greenfield, Ind., and their sextuplets, born on May 25, 1993, promote National Child Passenger Safety Awareness Week.

Feb. 11, 2009 — A proposed smoking ban in the state legislature has officials at the casino in Michigan City worried it may drive gamblers to its main competitor.
