March 11, 1919 — More than 1,000 persons were killed in Berlin this past week. Naked prisoners were dragged through the streets and then killed with hand grenades and officers had their throats cut.

March 11, 1969 — Flags on city buildings will be lowered to half staff on the 15th of every month in honor of the Americans killed in Vietnam.

March 11, 1994 — St. Joseph County Prosecutor Michael Barnes is made special prosecutor to investigate possible criminal charges involving juveniles in alleged sexual acts at the LaPorte County Juvenile Services Center.

March 11, 2009 — The LaPorte Police Department’s effort to install mobile data terminals in its vehicles is one step closer to becoming a reality.
