May 11, 1919 — Chicken thieves are again molesting the quiet and law-abiding poultry raisers of the city. Seven birds were stolen from 118 Worden Street and 20 chicks were lost from 516 J Street.

May 11, 1969 — Trustees, administrators and student leaders agree in principle that tuition fees at Indiana University should be eliminated in future years.

May 11, 1994 — Despite protests, Valparaiso University is not ready to break with the Missouri Synod and allow ordained Lutheran women to preach in the campus chapel.

May 11, 2009 — A rash of burglaries near Hudson Lake has police stepping up patrols and looking to citizens for help.
