May 13, 1919 — Two Ford touring cars were stolen last night. One was on State Street and belonged to a man who was at a dance at Wolf Hall. The other one was stolen from a residence in Kingsbury at 4 o’clock A.M.

May 13, 1969 — The hospital employs 400 in LaPorte. Health and hospital care is now the nation’s third largest industry in terms of its share of the gross national product.

May 13, 1994 — A group of the nation’s top business executives say the once-slumbering economy has reawakened and not even rising interest rates will dull its vitality.

May 13, 2009 — A golf course gets green again. Nearly 4 million gallons of floodwater are pumped from Beechwood.
