Slicer girls tennis team finishes with perfect 21-0 regular season, claims Sectional crown

 The LaPorte girls tennis team claimed the Sectional title Thursday evening, May 16, 2019. In a match moved indoors to a Michigan City facility because of weather, the Slicers blanked New Prairie 5-0.

In singles, Alaina Majors defeated Megan Boyd 6-1, 6-2; Rachel Kaminski defeated Anna Holvoet 6-0, 6-2; and Allison Varda defeated Sydney Moody, 6-0, 6-2.

In doubles, Jory Bales and Emma Keene defeated Emmy Kirkham and Hanna Pittman 6-2, 6-0, and Aniya Kennedy and Molly Reed defeated Naomi Paprocki and Brianna Wilson 6-1, 6-0.

The Slicers finish their season with a perfect 21-0 record. The Cougars had a winning 14-8 season.

The Regionals are May 21-22 at 4:30 p.m. at LeRoy Courts in LaPorte.
