May 20, 1919 — A man who slayed his brother is committed to the insane hospital in Michigan City for the rest of his life. The man did not seem affected by the verdict of the court.

May 20, 1969 — A Colombian jetliner is hijacked in flight and ordered to fly to Havana.

May 20, 1994 — Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, former first lady, dies from cancer at age 64. At her bedside were her children Caroline Schlossberg and John Kennedy Jr., and companion Maurice Tempelsman.

May 20,  2009 — After publishing the photo book “LaPorte, Indiana,” Jason Bitner is doing a documentary about the Maple City and its residents.
