May 21, 1919 — Jack Dempsey makes plain to his trainers that he is a prizefighter but not a lifesaver when waters sweep around his training quarters in Toledo, Ohio.

May 21, 1969 — LaPorte School Corp. announces promotions: William L. Mitchell to assistant superintendent, Jack Hyde to high school principal, and Arlo Westphal to assistant high school principal.

May 21, 1994 — White crosses will mark the locations of 47 fatal accidents in the county as part of a LaPorte Exchange Club project. The first three go up at the infamous Fail Road and Ind. 20 intersection.

May 21, 2009  — A LaPorte-opoly game has been created to raise funds for the Indian Trail Elementary School playground.
