LaPorte County group seeks input on local child care needs

The LaPorte Economic Advancement Partnership (LEAP) Workforce Task Force is seeking public input on child care needs and gaps in LaPorte and its surrounding communities.

The task force is made up of LEAP members, community leaders and business owners who work together to connect local employers with community resources to help them not only fill jobs but retain valuable employees.

“We are currently looking for the community’s support in understanding the daycare needs within the LaPorte community and its surrounding area,” a LEAP press release states.

LEAP asks citizens to complete a short survey at The data received will assist the task force in solving one of today’s most critical barriers to employability.

This is an opportunity for people working or living in La Porte to be part of a bigger conversation about what the needs are in this community. Please share with parents you know or work with. Don’t skip over this survey because you currently have child care! Collecting the data regarding the need in our community is so important! Could something work better for you or your family? Are there gaps, challenges or opportunities with your current child care? Is it affordable? Does your family find it difficult to find quality child care in the evening or overnight? What if you have to work overtime? Swing shifts? Not everyone works 8 AM – 5 PM. Please be part of the conversation to work toward a better La Porte! THANK YOU WORKFORCE TASK FORCE! THIS IS SO IMPORTANT!
