All he needed was a sturdy stick and the heart of a Marine

(WNLP photo and info by Mike Kellems:) This gentleman, 75 years young, hails from Hammond, IN. As he trekked along Goldring Road he stopped for some water and exclaimed, “I may be last, but I’m a Marine and Marines never quit!” This proud veteran was about halfway through the half marathon run/walk during the recent annual Tour de LaPorte. Thank you for your service, Sir!

True to his Marine Corps training, he finished just before 10 a.m. While he may have finished last, he is first in our book! (Information by Mike Kellems, photo by Adam Hannon)
