Oct. 10, 1919 — Miss Olga Anderson, who has been conducting a millinery shop at 810 Michigan Avenue, has moved to 803 Madison Street. She has pattern and untrimmed hats.

Oct. 10, 1969 — A major league baseball player says he enjoyed the hijack of a Los Angeles-to-Miami flight to Cuba because the Cubans were generous with their cigars, but the pilot apparently didn’t like it.

Oct. 10, 1994 — Two-year-old Christopher Bangs of La Porte now has a normal heart after heart transplant surgery in Indianapolis.

Oct. 10, 2009 — Nicky Lang and Matt Reed are crowned La Porte High School’s 2009 Homecoming Queen and King during halftime at the game versus Michigan City.
