Nov. 8, 1919 — The Little Giant Washing Machine Company is La Porte’s new industry. Their machine is the only one made for use in small family homes and in flat buildings which have laundry facilities.

Nov. 8, 1969 — The Apollo 12 launch crew, Charles “Pete” Conrad Jr., Richard F. Gordon and Alan L. Bean, who are set to go to the moon on Friday, will practice their return home.

Nov. 8, 1994 — Cynthia Hedge triumphs in the race for La Porte County prosecutor over incumbent Bill Herrbach by 7,312 votes.

Nov. 8, 2009 — Temperatures were in the 70s during the weekend.
