Nov. 22, 1919 — The Elks plan for their new home in the library building on Maple Avenue. The basement will have a buffet, billiard room, bowling alleys, and showers. The lodge room will be on the second floor.

Nov. 22, 1969 — Leaving the “unreal” world of the moon behind, Apollo 12’s astronauts sail into the earth’s gravity and line up their course for a Pacific Ocean splashdown in two days.

Nov. 22, 1994 — The Asian lady beetle is invading Hoosier homes in search of a place to spend the winter. It is about twice the size of the more familiar ladybug and is multicolored.

Nov. 22, 2009 — The Sales family offers its seventh annual free Thanksgiving dinner at the American Legion. Last year 200 people turned out for it.
