You never know what creatures are going to show up at the La Porte County Small Animal Shelter’s Pet Photos with Santa, but you can bet they’re all delightful. Round 1 of Pet Photos was Dec. 7. Never fear; Round 2 will take place Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Small Projects Building at the La Porte County Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. You’ll get a photo, taken by professional photographer Sara Kessler, within minutes for just $10, with proceeds going to the shelter. Come on out and enjoy, pet or not!

This terrier wonders: “Who the heck are you?”

Jane Bernard and crew employ weird noises and enticing toys to achieve the perfect pose.

These two Labs are sitting pretty.

These two creamy beauties showed up.

Perhaps a new reindeer for Santa.

This one, perhaps a late sleeper, just wants to go back home and grab a nap.

It’s the famous eight squirming pugs, with their parents, from southern Michigan!

A delightful photo shows La Porte County Animal Shelter Director Jane Bernard lurking behind a gift prop. We imagine her ready to grab a pug escapee (and was she wearing a catcher’s mitt?).

The shelter’s Eric Hayes coaxes a laugh from Director Jane Bernard with a little pug persuasion,

Santa looks like an elf next to these two.

“I’m ready for my closeup!”

classic family photo.

Accessories matter. This Doberman sports the perfect scarf.
