Jan. 14, 1920 — The city will have a candy paradise on Lincolnway. Work was started on what promises to be the best confectionery this side of Chicago.

Jan. 14, 1970 — A crowd of 300 jeering anti-American demonstrators fight with police and U.S. Secret Service men during Vice President Spiro T. Agnew’s two-day visit to Australia.

Jan. 14, 1995 — For the first time, La Crosse High School has been named a Four-Star School by the Indiana Department of Education. Handley Elementary School was so honored for the 3rd time in 5 years.

Jan. 14, 2010 — In November, Hoosiers will vote on whether to add property tax caps to the state Constitution.
