Jan. 15, 1920 — A La Porte man leaves his wife and elopes with his friend’s sweetheart. They are arrested in Michigan City and sent to jail.

Jan. 15, 1970 — A sign at Sensow Printing and Office Supplies across from City Hall says Keep Our Cities Clean … Eat a Pigeon! The pigeons know no boundaries with the mess they cause.

Jan. 15, 1995 — The last regular basketball game between the La Porte and Michigan City Elston teams was played at Slicer gym. LPHS Coach Joe Otis and Elston coach Dan Steinke shake hands after the game.

Jan. 15, 2010 — La Porte Police are expecting to receive 14 new E85 police vehicles this year.
