Calling all artists: donations sought by Depot Museum and Art Gallery

Local artists are invited to donate an original piece of art in any medium to the Depot Museum and Art Gallery in Beverly Shores, which is hosting its third annual “5×5 at the Depot” on May 8, 2020 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Artists’ work must have overall finished dimensions measuring 5”x5” (and no more than 5” deep). The Depot will provide blank canvases and frames, which may be picked up at Glenn L. Firme & Associates,  92 U.S. 12, Beverly Shores, Ind. Monday through Friday, 10 am. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The blank canvases and frames will be available while supplies last.

La Porte is well represented in the works that are featured: Laura Krentz has donated her work to previous “5×5 at the Depot” events; La Portean Charles Voris also shows at the Depot and will be contributing to this year’s event.

Artists may donate as many pieces as they like, and a label with their contact information (name, email, and phone number) should be affixed to the back of each piece. The deadline is Sunday, April 19, 2020. Each completed 5”x5” submission should be delivered to Glenn L. Firme & Associates.

Donated work becomes the property of the Depot Museum and Art Gallery, and may be used to promote the event. Work may be disqualified if the size requirements are not met.

Proceeds from this show help advance the mission of the non-profit museum and art gallery. The Depot strives to enrich the lives of people in Northwest Indiana by featuring shows by local and regional artists and hosting events that provide opportunities for people to gather and connect.
