Great Shot: “The lake, she is angry …”

Retired La Porte High School science teacher William Power took a walk near Lake Michigan’s shoreline Friday and this is what he saw. “Beverly Shores took a beating today from the 15- to 20-foot waves,” he wrote WNLP. “Water was splashing onto the road at the east end of Lakefront Drive.”

Bill got a closer look at the relentless power of wind and water:

“This is some of the damage. The yellow item are what’s left of a catamaran sailboat. Also, the giant sandbags placed by the park service to protect the shoreline were destroyed,” he wrote. “Many were just amazed at the wave action and destruction.”

If you have a Great Shot or more to share, send them as .jpg attachments to wnlp@whatsnewlaporte.com. Be sure to include the photographer’s name and a bit of information about each photo.

And you don’t mess with the Lake. She will always win.
