La Porte Symphony Orchestra cancels Sunday’s concert in light of coronavirus concerns

Tim King, executive director of the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra, today announced that the concert scheduled for Sunday, March 15 has been cancelled.

“This was a difficult decision to make,” King said in a prepared statement. “The health and well-being of our subscribers and musicians are our top priorities.” The governor’s statement, limiting public events to no more than 250 attendees also prompted the decision, King said.

No decision has yet been made about a possible re-scheduling of Sunday’s concert, which was to have featured the music of Ludwig von Beethoven and George Gershwin.
