In what is quite possibly a community first, church service were held “drive-in” style Sunday morning at La Porte’s Bethany Lutheran Church.

Pastor Dennis Meyer, assisted by Assistant Pastor Mike Sutton, lead a parking lot full of vehicles, some packed with the entire family, in a service that included singing, a sermon, blessings and communion.

The entire service was broadcast on Facebook and also simulcast on La Porte’s radio station, WCOE.

On the lighter side… quite possibly the first time in the history of Bethany Lutheran Church that the pastor had to place traffic cones prior to the service.
