Hang in there — it won’t be long!

“Spring cheer!”

That’s what La Portean William Power is wishing for our WNLP readers.

Bill, wife Mary and daughter Marlee were fortunate enough to go into Chicago before the shutdown to visit Garfield’s Park Conservatory, which was celebrating its flower festival.

“Not only did it look like spring but smelled like it too,” Bill writes. “It was warm enough for honeybees to come in and out of the building.”

Says Bill: “Hang in there, La Porteans, it won’t be long until we see and smell the same things here.”

If you have a Great Shot or more to share, send them as .jpg attachments to wnlp@whatsnewlaporte.com. Be sure to include the photographer’s name and a bit of information about each photo.

Lovely flowers remind us that hope springs eternal.
