The annual appearance of the Barnyard and Balehay Circus is drawing unusual interest as time draws near for the animals to cavort in the ring.

1970

Washington University officials in St. Louis call off classes today after several hundred students attempt to board up and “condemn” the Air Force ROTC building on campus.

1995

“Forrest Gump” wins six Oscars, including best picture. Its star, Tom Hanks, becomes the second performer to win as best actor two years in a row.

2010

Ricky Gagnon signs to play soccer for Holy Cross, located in Notre Dame, Ind. He considered other schools, but liked the family-like environment, proximity to La Porte, and coach there.
