Updated service announcement for Lorraine J. Osterstock, 1930-2020

Lorraine J. Osterstock, 89, of La Porte, Ind. passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020 at her home with her family by her side.

Lorraine was born in Easton, Penn. on Sept. 10, 1930 to William J.and Lena B. (Bickford) Jones.

On Sept. 11, 1948 in Nazareth, Penn. she married Robert Osterstock, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1996.

Surviving are her children, Alan Osterstock of Fair Oaks, Cal., Nancy (Dave) Sule of La Porte, and Donna (Steve) Regrut of Kempton, Penn.; six grandchildren, Alyssa and Kyle Osterstock, Justin (Jamie) Sule, Kelsey Leonhardt, Lauren and Marisa Behney; two step-grandchildren, Stephen and Sarah Regrut; and two great-grandchildren, Zoey and Hunter Sule.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: son Robert Osterstock, Jr.; and brother Leon Jones.

Lorraine worked in a blouse mill in Pennsylvania.  She and her late husband, Bob, were dedicated local legion baseball fans and were Phillie Fanatics.  Upon the death of her long time friend and companion, Joe Schneider, Sr. in 2007, Lorraine decided to join her daughter in Indiana to live out her life.  When she moved to Indiana, she became a proud member of Curves and took up bowling and participated in three bowling leagues.  Lorraine was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing pinnacle, bunko, and going to the Swanson Center.  She would attend the activities at Oak Wood Manor including an occasional trip with her friends to the casino where she played the penny machines.  Lorraine also enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as often as possible.

Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at a later date.

    I am so sorry to hear about Lorraine passing away. She was a great person and I enjoyed talking to her and bowling against her. We’re going to miss her dearly.
