Beautiful Savior soccer camp exploring options for this summer

Since 2013, Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church has enjoyed providing a safe, secure, and fun soccer camp for the La Porte County children.

However, to protect the health and safety of participants and families this year, the soccer camp may assume a new form or be postponed until later in the summer, Pastor Kevin Boushek announced.

“Beautiful Savior’s Soccer Camp planning team desires to know what options will most benefit the La Porte community. They have crafted a brief survey to gather feedback. This survey will allow the planning team to weigh all options and concerns as they plan for a Soccer Camp in 2020,” he said.

In the past, Pastor Boushek, said Beautiful Savior’s Soccer Camp instructed children in basic skills of soccer and provided the ability to practice in a friendly, engaging environment for all participants. Participants have been coached by volunteers from Divine Savior Academy, located in Doral, Fla. “Beautiful Savior’s camp incorporates a strong focus on teamwork and character building.  Beautiful Savior staff strive to make the camp a fun and safe environment,” he said.

A beginner’s camp has been offered for children ages 3 to 4, while the main camp serves children ages 5 to 12. All participants are divided into constructive and competitive age groups. Registered participating children receive a t-shirt and an additional sports item. The registration fee is $20.
