The Presbyterian Church of La Porte

On Sunday Rev. Peggy Huston’s sermon will be “Eldad, Medad and the Unexpected Pentecost Moment,” based on Numbers 11:24-30, in a live feed on the church’s facebook page, PresbyterianChurchofLaPorte at 9:30 a.m. At 11 a.m. there will be a parking lot service as Huston preaches from the sanctuary and people can listen from their cars by tuning in to radio FM 89.1 must be in close proximity to the church to hear).

People are encouraged to decorate their cars in some fashion in red to celebrate Pentecost Sunday. An offering will be received by ushers standing at the exit after the service. Note on the offering whether it is to go the church or the special Pentecost Offering that services children and youth; 40 percent of the Pentecost offering stays at the church to help with children and youth in this area.
Tuesday, June 2, will be primary election day at the church.

La Porte New Church
While the La Porte New Church, located at the corner of Indiana and Maple Avenues, is closed during this cautious Covid-19 time, Sunday services are being held via Zoom online at 10 a.m. All are welcome.
Contact Rev. Kit Billings via email (  revkit123@gmail.com) or phone/text (219-480-4682) to receive the Zoom invitation.
Rev. Billings is available by appointment for phone or online meetings for information on grief support, weddings, or anything else related to the New Church.
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
St. Paul’s continues to offer only one online service at this point, a 9 a.m. morning prayer service on Thursdays via the church’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/stpaullaporte).
In addition the judicatory, the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Indiana, offers four online services daily,  Monday through Saturday, in addition to a Sunday morning service.  Those services can be found at https://ednin.org/virtual-worship-schedule

“As time  continues without in-person services, we may decide to add more locally.  Until then we are relying on our Diocese, and other parish, to share their resources and creativity,” said Mother Michelle Walker, the priest at St. Paul’s.
