It’s now round two for organizations interested in applying for a grant from the Healthcare Foundation of La Porte.

Applications for health and wellness projects will be available through July 24.

Cycle 2 Strategic Grants are grants that address specific, board-approved major community needs and will have a defined impact on health and wellness, the HFL said in a prepared statement.  The three Strategic Grant categories include “Healthy Children,” “Healthy Living,” and “Healthy Minds.”

Grants are also available for similar projects addressing health and wellness needs. Called “Responsive Grants,” these awards are given to projects that fall outside the parameters of strategic grants but still meet the community’s health and wellness needs, as well as being in line with HFL’s mission and vision. Responsive Grant requests may be up to $25,000.

“The success of our community’s health and wellness organizations, as well as the Healthcare Foundation’s mission, lies in the development of deeper partnerships across our community,” said Maria Fruth, HFL president and CEO. “Partnering with other organizations through thoughtful grant-making is just one of the ways we will all successfully reach our vision of being one of the healthiest communities in the state.”

HFL is dedicated to empowering our residents to live healthy and well in and around La Porte, with the goal of becoming one of Indiana’s top 10 healthiest communities by 2030. Offering these grants is one way HFL collaborates with community organizations to reach this goal.
