LCSO musician spotlight: Dana Chartier

Dana Chartier, second from left, in a performance of “Oklahoma!”

La Porte County Symphony Orchestra Executive Director Tim King calls her “our crackerjack librarian.” He also thinks she’s a pretty good horn player.

Dana Chartier plays the horn in the LCSO. And if that isn’t enough, Dana is also a member of “Windiana,” as well as the Metamorphosis Traveling Theatre. And she is a staff member of the La Porte YMCA, which awarded her the R.O.S.E Award (Recognition of Special Employee) in 2019 for her exceptional customer service.

Dana and husband Jack have two daughters: Morgan, who is on the faculty of the University of Oklahoma as a metadata librarian, and Taylor, who is completing her Ph.D. in artificial intelligence at the University of Luxembourg.
