1920

Two divorce cases are filed. In one, a husband alleges that he is afraid his wife will poison him and that she has cursed him at odd times. In the other, a wife with six children alleges abandonment by a former sheriff.

1970

A growth of marijuana, which would bring $25,000 in the illegal drug market in Chicago, is destroyed in the county.

1995

A novelty store at 1350 Pine Lake Ave. has more than jewelry and fireworks — it’s selling drug paraphernalia in an area limited to patrons over 18 years old.

2010

International Harvester enthusiasts arrive at the fairgrounds for Red Power Roundup. More than 600 tractors are already on site and many more are coming before the event begins.
