Lubeznik Center for the Arts re-opening set for this Friday

The Lubeznik Center for the Arts, 101 W. Second St., Michigan City, is re-opening to the public this Friday, July 3 with a new exhibit to welcome art-lovers back to the center.

“Well-Behaved Women” includes artworks by 24 artists, both living and historic, to mark the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which gave women and men equal voting rights. Exhibiting artists include Anoush Bargamian, Marie Bergstedt, Melissa Blount, Whitney Bradshaw, Ruth Burke, Elaine de Kooning, Shannon Downey, Grace Hartigan, Juarez Hawkins, Olivia Jobbe, Rachel Kanter, Lee Krasner, Sam Kirk, Anne Leuck, Maria Sibylla Merian, Joan Mitchell, Natalie Jackson O’Neal, Ashley Paige Young, Macie Renee, Cathi Schwable and Hollis Sigler.

“We have implemented several new safety measures, including capacity restrictions, advance online ticket purchases, mask and social distancing regulations and increased sanitizing and cleaning protocols,” LCA officials said. “Our staff, volunteers and all visitors will be required to wear face coverings during this initial reopening phase, with complimentary disposable masks and gloves provided upon request.”
