NPHS shares its good news

Teachers at New Prairie High School say that there is good news coming from the school and the administration is sharing it with WNLP:

Delta Math

The New Prairie High School mathematics department is using a virtual program this year called DeltaMath.  DeltaMath is an online math practice and learning site created by Zach Korzyk, a public high school teacher in New York City since 2007.  In 2009, Zach created the first version of DeltaMath to help his own students enhance their procedural fluency and deepen their conceptual understanding.

Delta Math provides the mathematics teachers with an alternative to paper/pencil practice.  It gives the students immediate feedback and is strengthening their math vocabulary.   In addition, examples and videos are provided for students to refer to when they need help.  This program is proving to be extremely beneficial during at-home learning days.

Marching Cougars

The Marching Cougars performed at the first home football game performance on Friday, Aug. 22.  “We’re very excited to be back performing for the community & supporting our football team after not being able to perform at summer/4th of July parades & learning that our 2020 ISSMA competitive season was cancelled.  The Marching Cougars look forward to performing at all other home football games this season as well as an early October Blue Debut community performance at NPHS with pre-game, halftime & stand tune performances for those that can’t make it to NPHS home football games.”

French students

Students in French were busy getting to know each other using conversation starters in French.  French students also made an introduction page using terms in French.  These pages show things students like and they have some personal information about the classes.
