Betty Eileen Galloway, 1930-2020

Betty Eileen Galloway, 90, of La Porte, Ind. passed away Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020 at Miller’s Health and Rehab in La Porte.

She was born April 14, 1930 in Knox, Ind. to Maurice and Clara (Johnson) Leonard.

On June 23, 1946, in La Porte, she married Marion Galloway.

Betty was a member of the La Porte Missionary Church. She enjoyed gardening and she enjoyed her  strawberry collectables. Her true passion in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Joanne Galloway of La Porte; sons, Marion L. (Judy) Galloway, Jr. of Lafayette, Ind. and John (Pat) Galloway of Hebron, Ind.; grandchildren, Todd Galloway of Louisville, Ky., Scott (Josie) Galloway of Lafayette, Ind. Kyle (Mallory) Galloway of Crown Point, Ind. and Stephanie (Aaron) Miller of Hebron; and five great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband; parents; nine sisters; and two brothers.

Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18 at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, where a life celebration will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Carl Galloway officiating.  Interment will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the La Porte Missionary Church 104 E. 18th St., La Porte, Ind. 46350.

      To the family- my sincere sympathy. I have known Betty & her family for a number of years. Betty and Joanne always set behind us in church. I know she will be truly missed.. God’ Blessings to you all

    She was a good neighbor we missed her when she moved off Stanton street prayers to her family
