1920

The Connecticut legislature ratifies the women’s suffrage amendment to the U.S. Constitution, making the state the 37th to do so “and removing all doubt as to the validity of the amendment.”

1970

A burned-out journal box is blamed for a 23-car pileup of the Grand Trunk and Western railroad cars at the CR-850E crossing in Mill Creek. No one was injured.

1995

Teacher Diane Vermillion visits homes to help parents help kids with schoolwork for Walkerton Elementary School.

2010

La Porte Circuit Court Clerk Lynne Spevak says she is expecting a voter turnout of 44 to 45 percent of registered voters in the upcoming election.
