The Presbyterian Church of La Porte

Rev. Abbi Heimach-Snipes’ sermon Sunday for The Presbyterian Church of La Porte will be from Matthew 22:15-22, focusing on the tensions between Jesus and the religious elite. Heimach-Snipes will lead services remotely from her home.

Update on in-person worship: The church will follow the La Porte Community School Corp. When it is in the blue category, there will be in-person worship in the sanctuary. The school’s categories are based on the data from the Indiana Health Dep’t., updated each Wednesday at noon.

The church will continue offering both its worship services via live streaming on its Facebook page, presbyterianchurchoflaporte. Contemporary Cross Connection is at 9:30. Traditional worship is at 11:30, with the options of Facebook or in the car at the church parking lot at 307 Kingsbury Ave. In the parking lot people will need to tune to radio station 89.1 FM.

For the Traditional Worship, the bulletin and hymn are available on the church web site, yourhomechurch.org.

St. John’s Lutheran Church

St. John’s Lutheran Church is located at the corner of Monroe Street and Kingsbury Avenue.  There are two weekend worship service times:

The Saturday evening service (traditional worship) will be conducted in the sanctuary of the church at 6 p.m.

Effective Sunday, Aug. 30, the Sunday morning “CONNECT” service will be conducted in the church sanctuary.

For all services:  worshipers will enter by the door under the portico (roofed) entrance or the double doors by the ramp on Kingsbury Avenue.  These will be the only two doors available for entrance.  Attendances will be taken at the door and offerings will be received there.  Social distancing will be observed, masks are required, and hand sanitizing stations will be available.

Be mindful that if response to these services is greater than the capacity available, additional services may be planned in the future.

For more information please contact the church office at 219-362-3726.
