1920

Rev. G. G. Bratzel is called to be the pastor of St. Paul’s Evangelical Church. His present charge had only 50 members, but through his efforts, the congregation now numbers over 300 members.

1970

The world’s largest aircraft, the length of a football field and six stories high, explodes on the flight line at the Lockheed-Georgia Co. plant, killing a worker and injuring another.

1995

Trying to ensure that girls and boys athletics get equitable treatment is an issue all school districts face. Complaints have been filed by La Porteans regarding high school athletics.

2010

A car crashes into a pole at Cedar and 11th streets in Michigan City, the occupants flee, and a woman shows up at the emergency room in La Porte’s hospital flees when police come.
