The Door Church clothes giveaway
The Door Church, 905 W. 22nd St., La Porte, will be hosting a clothes giveaway Saturday, October 31 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. We have many new and gently used items to offer, including shoes and coats.

The Presbyterian Church of La Porte

Rev. Abbi Heimach-Snipes’ sermon Sunday for The Presbyterian Church of La Porte will be from Matthew 25, wherein Jesus calls people to “care for the least of these.” Heimach-Snipes explores three major cultural values that get in the way of that call.

Because Chicago has issued a travel ban for Chicago residents to Indiana, Heimach-Snipes will lead services remotely from her Chicago home.

With COVID-19 cases rising, La Porte County is in the “orange,” so there will be no in-person worship Sunday. Both the 9:30 a.m. contemporary Cross Connection service and the 11 a.m. Traditional Service will be available via live-streaming at presbyterianchurchoflaporte on Facebook and at parking lot services at the church at 307 Kingsbury Ave. In the parking lot people will need to tune to radio station 89.1 FM.

The bulletin and hymn for Traditional Worship are available on the church web site, yourhomechurch.org.

St. John’s Lutheran Church

St. John’s Lutheran Church, located at the corner of Monroe Street and Kingsbury Avenue, has announced that in-person worship services have been suspended for the next two weeks due to a rise in the COVID-19 numbers in the county as well as within our membership.  In response, the  governing board at its meeting opted to revert back to virtual worship for the weekends of October 24-25 and October 31-November 1. This decision was not an easy one, but it was made out of love and concern for our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

In the next two weeks, please join us for worship on our website at:
www.stjohnslaporte.org,   Log into Facebook | Facebook (where you can also access our daily devotions), or visit our YouTube channel directly at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeT40i2hwKO6OG9Ujs7QioQ/featured.

For more information please contact the church office at 219-362-3726.
