The Presbyterian Church of La Porte
On Sunday there will be an additional option for worshiping with The Presbyterian Church of La Porte. Sunday is All Saints Day, a remembrance of loved ones who have died in the past 12 months. Parishioners may choose to worship on Zoom, on a landline or cell phone, or on Facebook live streamed.
For either service via Zoom on a tablet or computer, everyone will be able to see each other, together as a congregation, and talk together after worship for an online “coffee hour.”

With COVID-19 cases rising, La Porte County is in the “orange,” based on the data from the Indiana Health Department, so there will be no in-person worship Sunday. The City of Chicago has issued a travel ban for Chicago residents to Indiana. Until that ban lifts, Rev. Abbi Heimach-Snipes will lead services remotely from her Chicago home.
St. John’s Lutheran Church
St. John’s Lutheran Church, located at the corner of Monroe Street and Kingsbury Avenue, has announced that in-person worship services have been suspended for the next two weeks due to a rise in the COVID-19 numbers in the county as well as within our membership. In response, the governing board at its meeting opted to revert back to virtual worship for the weekends of October 24-25 and October 31-November 1. This decision was not an easy one, but it was made out of love and concern for our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
