Holiday at the Pops adds much-needed sparkle to a challenging holiday season

Thanks to the determination, brainstorming and efforts of many, the 26th annual Holiday at the Pops Concert brightened the holidays as usual – even during a pandemic.  Although the balcony was empty and only a few main-floor seats were occupied, the La Porte County Symphony orchestra, under the direction of Chuck Steck, made merry with holiday favorites (while seated 6 or more feet apart from one another). Cripple Creek and Tim King, LPCSO executive director, belted out Christmas songs. Jacob Keen played the Trumpeter’s Lullaby by Leroy Anderson. The concert was live streamed to ticket holders and while the live airing had technical difficulties, Duneland Media has improved the video. Duneland has informed ticket holders via email that they may now view the video at no added cost. Those wishing to purchase tickets may still do so until Jan. 1.
