Slicers defeat Lowell, McCutcheon at triple dual

La Porte held a triple dual Wednesday against three opponents: Hamilton Heights, Lowell and McCutcheon. The Slicers went 2-1 on the day. 

Scores:

La Porte 32, Hamilton Heights 46

La Porte 57, Lowell 16

La Porte 42, McCutcheon 36

Going 3-0 for the Slicers were Ashton Jackson, Trae Anderson, Jamaal Salary and Jaden Browder.

New Prairie falls to Argos, 45-42, in girls basketball

The Lady Cougars traveled to Argos to finish off their first stretch prior to the holiday. Coming out a little sluggish, New Prairie battled down to the wire. 

Senior Jordan Winters caught fire early, scoring the first 9 points of the game. She stayed consistent throughout the game and finished with 16 points and 5 rebounds on the night. Freshman Morgan White quietly scored a team-high 17 points to go along with 7 rebounds. 

The Lady Cougars look to rebound after the holiday break as they travel to Michigan City to be part of the La Porte County Holiday Tournament as they prepare to compete in the 4-team classic on Tuesday and Wednesday. The loss sets the record at 5-8.

New Prairie girls defeat Bremen, 110-70, in the pool

The NPHS girls swimmers and divers traveled to Bremen Tuesday and came away with the win. 

Finishing in first place for the Cougars were:

The 200 medley relay team of Leah Williams, Emma Tulacz, Landi Newcomb and Madison Waltz; Leah Williams in the 200 free and 100 back; Emma Tulacz in the 50 free; Landi Newcomb in the 100 fly; the 200 free relay team of Emma Tulacz, Madison Waltz, Charlee Baum and Landi Newcomb; and Kylie Kepplin in the 100 breast.

Finishing with new season PRs were: Taylor Ostroski, Charlee Baum, Julia Guy, Madison Waltz and Bailey Bell.

The Cougars next compete on Jan. 5 at home against Jimtown for Senior Night.

The NPHS swimmers and divers traveled to Bremen Tuesday and came away with the win. 

Finishing in 1st place for the Cougars were: the 200 medley relay team of Wrigley Hemphill, Neiman Graham, Gabe Groves and Chase Brackeen; Landon Farmer in the 200 and 500; Wrigley Hemphill in the 200 IM and 100 back; Chase Brackeen in the 50 and 100 free; Gabe Groves in the 100 fly; the 200 free relay team of Gabe Groves, Gavin Pizarek, Neiman Graham and Chase Brackeen; Neiman Graham in the 100 breast; and the 400 free relay team of Gabe Groves, Evan Lux, Wrigley Hemphill and Landon Farmer.

Finishing with new season PRs were: Wrigley Hemphill, Tristan Peterson, Ty Hurt, Gavin Pizarek and Logan Justice.

The Cougars next compete Jan. 5 at home against Jimtown for Senior Night.
