Sharon McDonald, 76, of Rolling Prairie, Ind., passed away peacefully at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, in her home.
She was born April 30, 1944, in La Porte, Ind., to Joseph and Dorothy (Davis) Swanson.
Sharon enjoyed spending her time reading, baking and watching her hummingbirds. She loved her scratch-off tickets. Sharon loved her family, especially her grandkids. She also loved her dog, Speedy.
On Jan. 23, 1960, she married William McDonald, who preceded her in death Dec. 26, 2015.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son-in-law, David Emmons, Sr.; two sisters, Katherine Schumaker and Marge Kroening; and one brother, Jerry Swanson.
Surviving are her two children, Kerry Emmons of La Porte and Cherri (Jonathan) Dolph of New Carlisle, Ind.; two brothers, Bill (Betty) Swanson of La Porte and James Swanson of New Carlisle; four grandchildren, Annette, David, Jonathan and Jared; five great-grandchildren, Carter, Liam, Zoey, Clair and Piper; and her beloved dog, Speedy.
Cremation will take place. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, La Porte, is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Allure Hospice, 135 E. 57th St., Suite 07B104, New York, NY 10022.
