NPHS: good news from the classrooms

Mrs. Wilkeson’s AP Literature seniors have been studying the history of Ghana, the Atlantic Slave Trade and their own ancestries in preparation for starting the acclaimed novel Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi. Students shared stories they collected from their oldest living relatives since the novel follows two families through 7 generations and about 250 years of history. Several students learned things about their families that they never knew before. Classes recently began the novel and look forward to discussing it. Students were also excited to find that their AP Art History class was studying Ghanaian art from the same historical period!
