A La Porte-based manufacturer is looking to grow its operations. E-PAK Machinery Inc., 1535 S. Ind. 39, is looking to add 30,000 square feet of space at its plant near La Porte Municipal Airport, which could create 10 new jobs over the next two years.
E-PAK manufactures liquid-filling machines for both food and non-food products. President Tony Swedersky says the company has seen increasing demand, driven most recently by a need for machines that can bottle sanitizers and disinfectants.
“The demand right now that we have for space is very painful because of that uptick,” Swedersky said.
The La Porte County Council is considering a measure to put the facility into an economic revitalization zone, which would allow the company to receive a 10-year tax abatement for the project.
