Sacred Heart Church of La Porte’s food pantry has gotten a big boost thanks to a $5,000 donation from Horizon Bank. The funds will support the pantry during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The donation will help to keep serving the increasing needs of the greater La Porte community. We are so thankful for Horizon’s continued support in this time of need,” said Deacon Frank Zolvinski.

The pantry has served 315 households and 3,115 individuals during the pandemic. It’s open every Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m., weather permitting.

Donations of non-perishable food items may be placed in the boxes near the entrance to the church (201 Bach Street) on weekends, or in the entrance area of the Sacred Heart Office (across the street from the church) during office hours.
