Several Cougar swimmers advance to sectional finals

The lady Cougars competed at Sectional Prelims Thursday evening at Riley High School. The top 16 finishers will swim Saturday:

  • 200 Medley Relay team of Leah Williams, Emma Tulacz, Landi Newcomb and Madison Waltz
  • 200 Free – Erin Johnson and Leah Williams
  • 200 IM – Landi Newcomb and Lauryn Snyder
  • 50 Free – Emma Tulacz and Madison Waltz
  • 100 Fly – Landi Newcomb (Top 8), Lauryn Snyder and Julia Guy
  • 100 Free – Emma Tulacz, Erin Johnson
  • 500 Free – Madison Waltz
  • 200 Free Relay team of Emma Tulacz, Madison Waltz, Erin Johnson and Landi Newcomb
  • 100 Back – Leah Williams and Taylor Ostroski
  • 100 Breast – Kylie Kepplin
  • 400 Free Relay team of Erin Johnson, Sofia Barcevic, Taylor Ostroski and Leah Williams

Earning new PRs were: Madison Waltz, Charlee Baum, Erin Johnson, Taylor Ostroski, Leah Williams, Sofia Barcevic, Julia Guy, Bailey Bell, and Landi Newcomb.

NP defeats Elkhart, 60-50

The Varsity Cougars traveled to Northside Gym in Elkhart Thursday and came home with a 60-50 victory. The Cougars were led in scoring by Rylan McBride’s 20 points. Next up for the Cougars is another road game at Marian on Tuesday.

Slicers will now face Valpo tonight

The Slicer boys basketball game vs. Valpo, scheduled for Feb. 4, willl now be played tonight (Friday) in Slicer Gym. The JV game will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity game.
