Tickets for LP girls basketball regional available online only

Tickets for this Saturday’s girls basketball regional must be purchased online using the following link. Tickets will not be available at the door.


Also, Slicer fans attending the regional in Slicer Gym are asked to enter at Door No. 23 from the F Street parking lot.

New Prairie boys fall to Marian in basketball

The New Prairie High School boys basketball team lost to Mishawaka Marian, 54-35, on Tuesday.

Braydon Flagg led the Cougars on offense with 19 points.

Mishawaka is next for the Cougars on Saturday.

LPHS gymnasts defeat Michigan City

La Porte earned its second-highest team score with a 98.35 against Michigan City Tuesday. Michigan City didn’t have a full team and scored 40.1.

Senior Madison Esmeyer led the Slicers again, finishing 1st in all but one event. Esmeyer won vault (8.5), beam (8.35), floor (9.2), and all around (33.45.). She placed 2nd on bars with a 7.4. Sophomore Rosie Korell placed 2nd all around with a season-high 32.0. Korell was 2nd on vault (8.1), 3rd on bars (7.3), 2nd on beam (8.2), and 4th on floor with a season-high 8.4. Freshman Ava Penziol placed 3rd all around (31.7), 4th vault (7,7), 4th bars (7.2), 3rd beam (8.05), and 3rd floor with a season-high 8.75.

Junior Ella Schable won bars with a season high score of 7.8, finished 5th on beam (7,35) and 2nd on floor with a 9.0. Sophomore Kate Thibideau tied for 4th with Penziol on vault (7.7), 7th on bars (6.2), 4th on beam (7.85), 5th on floor with a season high of 8.2 and 4th all around (29.95). Samara Hale scored a 6.8 on vault for 8th and 7.0 on beam for 6th.
The Slicers showed off many new skills in preparation for the upcoming DAC meet on Feb. 20. Their final dual meet of the season is Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Lake Central.
