Arts in the Park releases 2021 schedule for free concerts, events, exhibits

 

Arts in the Park will once again present a summer filled with music, exhibits, events and food in the outdoor setting of the Dennis F. Smith Amphitheater in Fox Park. (See more detailed schedule in image above)

Bringing the community together since 2000, Arts in the Park will feature:

— Wednesday concerts: The historic La Porte City Band will play each evening starting at 7 p.m. June 9 through Aug. 11.

— Thursday concerts: Each concert at 7 p.m. June 3-Aug. 26 will feature a different genre of music: tribute bands, jazz, pop, blues, country, bluegrass, Christian, rock, funk, big band, and more. The pre-concert hour at 6 p.m. will feature such things as art exhibits and classes for youths and adults, Hula Hoop artist, Zumba, yoga, clogging, drumming, ballroom dancing, new bands, poetry readings, and more.

— Friday Tunes at Noon: Various performers will be featured from noon to 1 p.m. June 4-Sept. 17.

— A FoxTrot 5K Run/Walk & Concert will take place Saturday, Sept. 11.

— Concessions: Popeye’s Poppin’ in the Park will offer for sale popcorn, cookies, snacks, frozen treats and drinks served by volunteers from different organizations and youth groups. (Wednesdays and Thursdays only.)

— Food Trucks: Digzy Dogz & Grill and Fauson’s Ice Cream Trucks will offer food including beef hot dogs, grilled chicken wraps, hand-dipped ice cream cones, sundaes, milkshakes, floats, and more. (Wednesdays and Thursdays only.)

— Picnics & coolers: Attendees are welcome to bring their own refreshments to the concerts.
